Reitdiep Marina

On the North side of the City of Groningen is a new marina. The marina is surrounded by a Scandinavian scene: wooden pier homes in bold colors, a boardwalk all around, slips for private boats, and a harbor square with trees for shelter from the elements. In 2009 during the Day of Architecture the public awarded it third place.

The homes sold fast and are currently almost completely occupied. Reitdiep Marina is the center of the new neighborhood Reitdiep. Besides residential and commercial activities in a maritime atmosphere, there are also shops. For example the Jumbo supermarket for daily groceries.
